We baptize in the name of Jesus Christ, following the example and instruction given in the Holy Scriptures. As Acts 2:38 declares, "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." This powerful command was spoken on the Day of Pentecost, marking the birth of the New Testament Church.
We believe that baptism in Jesus’ name is not just a tradition, but a vital part of the plan of salvation. Jesus Himself emphasized this when He told Nicodemus in John 3:5, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." This new birth experience includes repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
By being baptized in the name of Jesus, we are buried with Him, our sins are washed away, and we rise to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3–4; Acts 22:16). It is through His name that we receive forgiveness, cleansing, and a new identity as children of God.
